New Jersey has a broad operating studio ecosystem, from large soundproof stages and production campuses to cyc studios, virtual-production volumes, broadcast spaces and small controlled rooms. The New Jersey Motion Picture & Television Commission lists almost 70 soundstages in current operation. This independent directory organizes a verified selection by practical production use and keeps operating facilities separate from the major campuses still under construction.
Yes, New Jersey has bookable production stages today. Large operating options include Cinelease Studios Caven Point in Jersey City, 10 Basin Studios and Sustainable Studios in Kearny, Sustainable Studios in Moonachie, Mile End Studios in Kearny and other facilities across the state. Smaller cyc, broadcast, virtual-production and controlled spaces serve commercial, corporate, tabletop, music, still and short-form production. Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth, Lionsgate Newark and 1888 Studios Bayonne belong in a separate “under construction” section until their operators publicly confirm that bookings are open.

Major campuses under construction, not yet bookable
New Jersey’s largest announced studio projects are development stories, not current stage inventory. They are kept separate from operating facilities, and every projected opening date below should be re-verified before production planning.
Netflix Studios Fort Monmouth Under construction
A planned 12-stage production campus on the former Fort Monmouth property. NJEDA materials describe a campus of more than one million square feet on approximately 292 acres, with backlots, offices and production support. Lionsgate Newark Under construction
A purpose-built studio project in Newark’s South Ward. Construction began in December 2025, with public reporting pointing to a 2027 opening. Published figures for final size and stage count have varied, so this directory omits the disputed numbers. See the Newark guide.
1888 Studios Bayonne Under construction
